Better off than they were 10 years ago, there was some real worry then they might go out of business back then.

Weird hypothetical. I think honestly we'd never truly appreciate a Switch without the missteps of the prior generations. IMO, as someone who used both the Wii/DS and WiiU/3DS, my frustrations with either is their weird split support between what they put on their consoles versus what they put on their handhelds. They never seemed to provide adequate equal support. They always seemed to focus on one at expense of the other. This also became an issue because of their support base being split between different systems. This led to commercial disappointments.
The Switch remedied a lot of this. Being a hybrid device makes it attractive to both the console and handheld crowd. It create a solid userbase to market games around, one device for developers to design their games for. Not to mention this was Nintendo's strongest tech leap since the N64 days.
Anyhow, Switch would have never worked back then, even if it was doable the tech would have cost a fortune. That's another draw of Nintendo, they've offered a certain degree of reasonable affordability.
That's not going to do well against a rival Switch 2. Sony has a declining first party output and third parties are growing increasingly weary about making exclusivity arrangements. Pit that against Nintendo's hardware which has a large draw to it for its signature first party line-up along with increased third party support and it's already looking like a one sided fight.
It's also worth wondering if Sony is going all-in to support a handheld. If this is just a secondary consideration to market alongside a dedicated console then I feel it won't get the support it needs for longterm viability. The only way I feel this has any potential whatsoever is if they fully commit to one.
Why is that news? OF COURSE they were.
This came up days ago and it was old news even then.
They already said the next COD game would launch on Game Pass months back.
The only ambiguity is over rest of COD games that haven't released on Game Pass. MS can't say even they'll come because whatever is keeping those off Game Pass has to do with ABK's previous deal with Sony to expire, that'll also precludes them from explicitly saying when they'll come. Safe to say, a few more months.
I'm fine with it, they added challenge to the combat by making some enemies immune from direct attacks requiring attacking from rear after hoping over, some require stunning, some require players keep up a combo chain because they can only be taken down by combo chain takedown move.
I'm fine with it. People love to act like games aren't games because some stupid reason, like I dunno how walking over a hidden medkit that intant heals someone on the verge of death is any better than slow health regen.
TV series would be better, trying to jam a game's story/lore into 90 minutes is a recipe for disaster.
I could fold my 3DS and stick it in my pocket and take it everywhere. My Switch I mostly play in portable mode but only around my house, too much fuss to take it with me anywhere.
Switches biggest benefit is it's library. Nintendo had issues juggling their first party support between their consoles and handhelds and third parties weren't interested in either. With Switch they've only one system to concern themselves with and because of this they're not making games for two fractured system audiences. Third parties now have a larger unified audience to make games for and are seeing larger success across the Switches unified audience. As someone mostly interested in Nintendo's first party line-up, it's nice to see one system to focus games on.
They're not worried about Xbox, no doubt they get massive chubbies whenever provided an opportunity to dunk on Xbox. They're PS shills that never miss an opportunity to twist the knife. But this seems more prompted by insecurities brewing out of the PS world. I'm excited as an Xbox gamer. Hellblade less than a week away. MS gaming event a couple weeks after that. New studio just announced in Poland made up of Witcher 3 veterans.
