Call of Duty and Battlefield are two of the biggest franchises in video games, regularly attracting millions of players--and millions of dollars in revenue. They both started out by depicting the Second World War, and each has since gone on to various different locations and time periods. Each is also getting a new entry this year, in the form of Black Ops 4 and Battlefield V. The question is: which series is better?
We decided to sit down and have a lighthearted but passionate debate about which franchise we prefer. Fighting for Battlefield and its large scale action is GameSpot's resident General, Dave Jewitt. On Call of Duty's side, meanwhile, is Will Potter--just don't ask him about his quest for a copy of Modern Warfare 2.
Watch the video above to see how the debate turned out. The discussion begins with randomly selected topics, and the pair argue in support of their respective picks. Alongside the serious analysis of each side, there's also some friendly fun-making and jokes at each other's expense. Be sure to watch till the end to see the quickfire round, which gets a little goofy.
Last week we put PUBG up against Fortnite to decide which of the two is the best battle royale game, and Dave narrowly beat Oscar Dayus to ensure he and Fortnite prevailed. Check back next week for another episode of Versus; new episodes drop every Wednesday at 6 AM PT / 9 AM ET / 2 PM BST / 11 PM AET on GameSpot.com and YouTube.
