Every game that comes out, something is f*cked with the Xbox version. Games are literally made by 1st party devs are running and looking better on their competitoršŸ¤”

Badthesda truly are a mess of a developer. Couldn't even be bothered to add HDR to a so called "next gen" patch. Don't know how they're still in the game development business.

BC had better visuals with the One X path than the next gen upgrade.

It's nice that Bethesda updated a 9 year old game. It's awkward that the PS5 version needs a system level settings change to access certain modes. But these modes don't seem to be accessible in-game, so maybe the developer has no other way to implement this.

There is some stuff so old in the implementation of the game, like the superior LOD setting for a certain area of the map on Xbox consoles that seems especially crafted for a specific configuration (and old hardware support for PhysX that just crashes the game). Maybe a retuned version of the map could look much better, but we are talking about an old engine running a game that was considered looking somewhat last-gen at launch, and now we are 9 years later. Maybe MS can use AI to optimize the map LODs since they want to use it for game development.

It broke ultrawide support on PC. A single modder was able to do a better job than paid professionals over at Bethesda.

@R4gn4r0k: Yeah, I have been thinking the same thing. Maybe amateur modders are better, because they don't have to work under pressure?

I thought the patch was supposed to add that? It's weird because they had a while to work on it and even delayed the patch from the initial 2023 release

From what I heard from a former devs it is more bureaucracy in development that the competency of developers. Simple changes require many layers of approval.

Seems like there's been a massive talent drop off in gaming the past few years.

@Pedro: yeah I can believe that. It seems like quite a toxic trend: more and more managers and less and less people that actually do the heavy lifting. It makes companies boated and inefficient.

Also if you hear the success stories of some games: even the base level devs have a say in the matter. With more and more managets the 'lower' level employees just don't get listened to.

Oh no. One of them looks slightly more terrible. Someone somwehere might care.

If you like having 4 more terrible looking trees in your game, go with the PS5 version.

Ah I was wondering when this thread would appear.

I think this illustrates the complete lack of vision and competence from Bethesda nowadays.
