I got my PS3 in 2007 and I've been gaming in SD up until now, when my TV has started to slowly and painfully die. I feel like I've seen everything and I've narrowed it down to four possibilities:

AOC LC32W063 32-Inch LCD HDTV, Glossy $350
This one looks too good to be true. My friend recommended it, and at that price it looks really impressive. But, it still looks too good to be true for $350. The only catch is its 720p, but I think I sit too far away from my TV to notice.

Element 32" ****1080p 120Hz LCD HDTV $350
Another too good to be true!
I saw this one and even got a good recommendation. The thing that gets me is a review or two that says it isn't very good, and one in particular that says its terrible for gaming. I'm afraid to buy this because all I'll use it for is for gaming!

Insignia™ - 32" ****/ 1080p / 60Hz / LCD HDTV $430
This is the first TV I looked at and I don't see any problems, reviews seem to like it and I think I'll love it too. The only catch is its an extra $80 than the other two. Other than that, its what I'm looking for!

Sony 32" BRAVIA 1080p LCD TV $500
Looking at it next to the other three it seems kind of silly, as it is WAYYYY more expensive than the first two. Its here only because I know it is high quality I trust it, the other three I'm kinda iffy on, but I wouldn't be afraid of quality getting this one. But it IS $500.

I desperately need help choosing. I'd drive to the store and look at them all of them if they were all on display, or if I could test a game on each of them. I just don't want to make the wrong decision on a TV I'll use all the time. Thanks in advance for any help!

Any other TVs you guys have to recommend I'll gladly research, my only requirement is that the TV is 720p+ and 32" or less. I'll look at just about anything!

I'm no TV expert, let me just start by saying that.. but.. everytime i've seen an element they look like crap. I mean sure maybe it's just the settings its on at the store or whatever, but seriously i'd never buy one, they look horrible compared to all other TV's. 1080 or 720 doesn't really matter on a 32 inch screen, i'd say go with the 350 one, you'll be happy and you'll save money for some gaming. The Bravia is of course the best one you listed but I doubt it's worth the extra crash.

Not to make your decision any less complicated, but honestly i'm partial to Vizio http://www.walmart.com/ip/Vizio-E320VL/13904831 They're cheap and seem to be great quality, my roommate has 2 vizio TV's, one 61 or 62 inch, and a 42 in his room, they're both spectacular. Free shipping to home on that one, and it's only 350. plus then you have walmart if you ever needed to use the warrenty.. and we all know they're everywhere.

too bad you can't go for a 42". Best buy has an insignia 42" plasma 720p for only $430 and it has great PQ for the money. out of those though, the Insignia looks best for the price. I'd prefer a quality brand like Samsung, LG, or Sony 720p over a low end brand like AOC, Element, ect 1080p. With Insignia it's kinda hit or miss with their TVs I hear.

If those are your only options, the Sony, without a doubt. The other brands suck. Or, get a 42 inch Samsung, Panasonic, or LG 720p plasma for not much more than the Sony.

That's a nice deal! I never saw the Vizio. ATM I think I'm going to go with the Insignia, just because nobody seems to be hating on it. It's got some great reviews, and its not as much as the Sony.

What more would I be getting if I got the Sony? Is it significantly better than the other 3 I mentioned?

well.. if your gonna go with the insignia, for the same price.. http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Insignia%26%23153%3B+-+42%22+Class+/+720p+/+600Hz+/+Plasma+HDTV/9748831.p?id=1218166511573&skuId=9748831&st=42%20inch&cp=1&lp=2 a 42 inch insignia.. lol. It's plasma tho, Personally I don't like plasma but maybe it's worth it for all the extra size. With the sony you'd basically be getting better quality. They're also very nice looking sets, the bravias that is.

When will this nonsesne stop? That soley depends on the viewing distance and material the OP will be viewing. I play and watch in 1080p at 24" and it matters very much to me.

I would if I could, but I need it to fit in my entertainment center, and 32" makes the cut by less that an inch (yes, I did the calculations, added in the border, and looked at specs). I saw a ton of great 42s or 36s, but they won't fit.

While I'm here, I'm really starting to lean towards the insignia. If anyone has anything BAD to say about it I want to hear it!

@shawty (I hate how gamespots quotes have a html error half the time) It's really in your mind, I bet if someone swapped your tv with a 720 you wouldn't even notice. Unless your nose is almost against the screen. but hey whatever works for ya.

Of course I would notice. There is a very big difference between 1080p and 720p on 1080p material. If people can't see the difference, then their set up is wrong, have bad eye sight or have bad TV's or are sitting to far away. So know, its not in my mind. I can't believe you just said that.

PS3 exclusive games and BluRay movies play at 1080p. Games that came out on the Xbox 360 as well only play at 720p. So, the TV depends on what type of games you play. If you are listing the Sony Bravia at 1080p, it is the perfect match for your PS3. Though, the off brand TV's that you have listed often get dead pixels in them very quickly. Hell. My $400 Panasonic 32" 720p LCD TV has a dead pixel in it. It is very annoying.

The majority of PS3 exclusive games are NOT 1080p.

Both the PS3 and Xbox 360 can do native 1080p for gaming, but there is very little games for both machines that run at 1080p.

Agreed. As far as brand preference goes I say go with the Sony.
