Sega and developer Creative Assembly have announced more key details around Total War: Pharaoh, including its release date and how to play ahead of launch.

The game launches digitally on October 11 for PC, with a physical limited edition version coming in October featuring a double-sided poster, a map, and portraits of the game's faction leaders.

Everyone who preorders Total War: Pharaoh will get access to an early access weekend, as well as the Avatar of the Gods cosmetic bundle and the Heart of Shardana cosmetic pack. Early access begins Friday, September 29 and runs through Monday, October 2.

In the early access weekend, players can command the Ramesses and the Irsu in 60 turns of gameplay, but with unlimited replays during this period.

"We're currently focusing all available energy on polishing and delivering a smooth and enjoyable launch, so do not think of this as a beta test--although of course, if you should happen to encounter a serious bug or issue, please do let us know," the developer said.
