Ghostbusters Reboot Finishes Shooting, Ernie Hudson Films Scenes
Hudson, Bill Murray, and Dan Aykroyd will all be present.
Filming has now wrapped on the Ghostbusters reboot, and it has been confirmed that Ernie Hudson has shot a cameo. Hudson is the last of the three original remaining Ghostbusters to be included in the new movie, with Bill Murray and Dan Aykroyd having already filmed scenes. Harold Ramis, the fourth star of the 1984 film, died in February 2014.
Yesterday director Paul Feig praised the actor for his work on the final day of the movie's production:
Thanks to the great @Ernie_Hudson for joining us on our last day of production. He is a class act and an incredibly talented and funny man.

Hudson's involvement does come as a slight surprise, given the comments that the actor made about the film last year. Reacting to the news that the movie would feature an all-female ghostbusting team, Hudson told the Telegraph newspaper: "All-female I think would be a bad idea. I don't think the fans want to see that. I hope that if they go that way at least they'll be funny, and if they're not funny at least hopefully it'll be sexy."
Hudson subsequently gave a somewhat different reaction to The Hollywood Reporter, saying: "Four fiercely funny, foxy, females busting ghosts ... phenomenal!"
In addition to Hudson, another original cast member making a return is Annie Potts. According to the Boston Herald, Potts, who played Janine Melnitz (the Ghostbusters' receptionist in the first movie), will play "a hotel clerk."
Ghostbusters stars Kristen Wiig, Melissa McCarthy, Kate McKinnon, Leslie Jones, and Chris Hensworth, and hits cinemas on July 16, 2016.
