Expand Your PS5 Storage With These Deals On Samsung's Best SSD

The Samsung 990 Pro is fully compatible with PS5, and some models are discounted by up to $90.

Though the PS5 is marketed as a console with 1TB of storage space, the amount of usable space is only 667GB. The recently released PS5 Slim offers a modest bump to around 840GB, but regardless of which model you have, the biggest AAA games each year will consume your storage space surprisingly fast. The latest example is Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, which clocks in at roughly 145GB. If you picked up the new PS5 exclusive on launch day and are now considering expanding your storage, the latest PS5-compatible Samsung NVMe SSDs are on sale for a limited time.

The Samsung 990 Pro with Heatsink is fully compatible with PS5 and offers speeds up to 7,450MB/s. The 1TB 990 Pro is on sale for $135 (down from $155). You'll more than double your storage space with the 1TB model, but if you think you'll need more, the 2TB and 4TB models are also on sale. The 2TB 990 Pro is discounted to $200 (down from $240), while the 4TB model is on sale for $330 (down from $420). The 4TB will be overkill for most users, but down the line you could always decide to move the SSD over to your PC instead.

Need something even more affordable? The older 1TB Samsung 980 Pro is available for $100 and will still work great with the PS5.

Beyond Samsung products, the 1TB Crucial T500 with Heatsink is listed for just $105 (down from $156) and the 1TB WD Black SSD with Heatsink is down to $100 from its usual $130. Both meet the minimum requirements for PS5 support, so give them a look if you don't need the heaps of space offered by a 4TB or 2TB card.
