Enix has the American version of Dragon Quest VII, retitled Dragon Warrior VII, on display at E3. The game's localization, which includes translation into English, is estimated to be 30 percent complete, and it is planned for release in the latter part of 2001's fourth quarter.

Dragon Quest VII's development was legendary for its length, but since it came out in Japan, it has sold more than 4 million copies. Thanks to the success of the Final Fantasy series, the United States is a ripe market for role-playing games, and the latest entry in the series that started the RPG craze in the late 1980s will finally be available to US gamers soon.
